EU-origin Traceable batches Built in Andalusia

About AlgaMalaga

Building a modern seaweed business from inland Andalusia.

We are creating an inland seaweed platform focused on clean, traceable Andalusian biomass — starting with Ulva, also known as sea lettuce.

Mission

To supply high-quality seaweed biomass for food, cosmetics, agriculture, feed and sustainable materials, with science, transparency and commercial realism at the core.

Vision

To help make Andalusia a reference point for seaweed cultivation, proving that local inland production can compete on quality, traceability and environmental credibility.

Why seaweed

Seaweed is not a gimmick. It is one of the smartest crops on the table.

Ulva brings together nutrition, flavour, versatility and resource efficiency in one bright green ingredient that works across kitchens, labs and fields.

Seaweed as a superfood

Ulva naturally contains vitamins, minerals, fibre and bioactive compounds in a low-calorie format, while adding a clean oceanic umami that chefs and product developers can actually use.

Controlled and traceable

By growing on land, we can tune light, salinity and nutrients and track each batch from cultivation through processing. That gives partners consistency, transparency and confidence.

Products

What we provide now — and where we are going next.

We start with simple, useful Ulva formats for B2B partners, then expand carefully into higher-value ingredients and applications.

Food ingredients

  • Dried whole leaf for chefs and food developers.
  • Ulva flakes for toppings, blends and seasonings.
  • Ulva powder for functional food applications.

Beauty and personal care

Seaweed biomass and fractions can feed into hydrating, soothing and antioxidant product concepts with a traceable Andalusian story.

Future directions

Biostimulant inputs, feed ingredients and bio-based material applications developed step by step with specialised partners.

Applications

One crop. Multiple industries.

Ulva acts as a bridge ingredient across food, cosmetics, agriculture, feed and materials.

Food

Seasoning blends, finishing salts, salad toppings, broths and plant-based products.

Cosmetics

Powders and extracts for marine-inspired formulations focused on hydration, soothing and antioxidant stories.

Agriculture

Seaweed-derived inputs for biostimulants, soil health and regenerative growing systems.

Feed & materials

Longer-term work in lower-impact feed formulations and novel bio-based materials.

Recipes

Sea lettuce belongs in real kitchens, not just pitch decks.

Start simple. Treat Ulva like a flavour-packed herb, a mineral-rich finishing salt, or a green umami boost.

Ulva & tomato Andalusian toast

Toast bread, rub with tomato and garlic, add olive oil and finish with dried Ulva flakes.

Green umami salt

Blend sea salt with Ulva powder and lemon zest for vegetables, fish or popcorn.

Andalusian sea lettuce chimichurri

Mix parsley, Ulva flakes, garlic, olive oil, vinegar and chilli for an instant seaside lift.
